A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man in Grays.

David Guwazah, of Leighton Gardens, Tilbury, was arrested on Saturday (20th April).

The 38 year-old was charged last night, Sunday (21st April), with attempt to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of assault, aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 22 April.

It follows the death of Trevor Cowan, 35, on Thursday (18th April), who had been taken ill at a property in Parsonage Road but later died in hospital.

Essex Police say enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the South Major Crime Team on 101 or email scd.appeals.essex@essex.pnn.police.uk
