Halstead: Man Charged After Air Gun Shooting

A 29-year-old man's been charged with four offences after a firearms incident in Halstead.

Armed officers were called to White Horse Avenue just after 8am on Wednesday (July 25th) after reports than a binman had been shot in the face with an air gun.

A man was later arrested in Braintree and a weapon was recovered.

Henry Gaskin, of Long Green in Cressing has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, assault causing actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and possessing cannabis.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court this morning (Friday July 27).
