'Legal high' warning for people in Essex

After the party drug Naphyrone, known as NRG1 was banned by the government last week, people in Essex are also now being warned about the dangers of so-called legal highs as part of a new 6-week campaign on Facebook.

The Drug and Alcohol team here says even if a drug has not been banned yet, it doesn't mean it's safe.

They're also reminding everyone that the new laws means if you're caught with NRG1, you could face up to 5 years in jail, or 14 for those caught dealing the Class B drug.

Earlier this year, the party drug mephedrone (plant food) was also made an illegal substance by the Government.
