Man charged after Southend stabbing

A 20 year old man has been charged after a teenager was stabbed in Southend.

Max Hyde, of no fixed address, will appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today after being charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Police received reports that a 16 year old boy had been stabbed on Central Avenue just before 4pm on Wednesday.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He has since been released and is recovering. 

A 34 year old man, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released on bail until Tuesday, August 7.
