Man Charged Over Southend Murder

A man's been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Police have charged a 40-year-old man who was arrested as part of their investigation into the murder of Hassan Mohammed in York Road in Southend.

Vasile Iftinca, aged 40, from Southend, has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Hassan Mohammed was stabbed to death on York Road on 7th July. He died in hospital the next day.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Southend Magistrates Court this morning.
