A man from Braintree has been found guilty of stabbing a man in Colchester during an argument over a drug debt three years ago.
20 year-old Steven Ndukwu was just 17 when confronted his 41 year-old victim on Monkwick Avenue, stabbing him multiple times.
Essex Police said: "Ndukwu, suffered injuries himself, and also need hospital treatment after he was found outside McCoys in Queensland Drive a short time later.
"He was then arrested and interviewed before subsequently being charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
"Following a four day trial at Chelmsford Crown Court last week he was found guilty of the offence by a unanimous verdict.
"He has been bailed to report back for sentencing on January 11.
"Recorder Chandler told Ndukwu he could expect to face a substantial amount of time in jail".
Investigating officer Dc Tim Harris from Colchester CID said: "I am very pleased that Ndukwu has been found guilty and forced to take responsibility for his crime.
"He had continued to deny he was involved in this attack but thanks to the bravery of witnesses and diligent police work he has been convicted and will spend a long time behind bars."
