A motorbike rider has suffered serious injuries after a crash in Rochford.
Emergency services were called to Ashingdon Road at around 7.35am yesterday (Monday, 30 May) after reports a man had come off his bike.
Essex Police said: "The rider, believed to be a man in his 50s from the Southend area, has been taken to the Royal London Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
"The Rochford bound side of the road was closed until 9am while police carried out investigations and debris was cleared".
The East of England Ambulance Service said: "(Paramedics) treated a man in his 50s who had suffered serious injuries to his back and chest.
"He was taken to Southend University Hospital for further treatment.
"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening".
