A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after a crash in Southend.
Police were called to reports a motorbike and two cars had collided on Southchurch Road, near the junction of Christchurch Road, at around 5.10pm yesterday.
Essex Police said: "Officers and ambulance paramedics went to the scene and found the rider of an Aprilia motorbike, a 23-year-old man from Westcliff, had suffered serious injuries.
"He was taken to the Royal London Hospital for treatment where he remains in a serious condition.
"The cars involved were a black Renault Clio and a red Ford Escort. The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and officers carried out initial investigations.
"The road was reopened shortly before 11pm. Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information which could help is asked to call PC Gavin Freeman at the Laindon Road Policing Unit on 101".
