Olympic volunteers needed in Essex

Essex County Council's revealed around seven thousand volunteers will be recruited specifically to help with 2012 Olympic events in this county.

We're hosting the mountain biking in Hadleigh and the recruits will do things like greet visitors at the venue or help out at one of the cultural activities planned as part of the Cultural Olympiad.

County Councillor Stephen Castle, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for the 2012 Games is urging Essex residents to consider volunteering:

“In two years’ time, the London 2012 Games will be on our doorstep. Essex residents are ideally positioned to grasp this once in a lifetime opportunity to get involved and help deliver a great Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“Applying to be a Games Maker, a London Ambassador or a volunteer in Essex during the Games will allow people to make a worthwhile contribution and result in a positive and satisfying experience – one to remember for years to come”.
