Southend: Second Man Dies In Bike Crash

A second man has died after a head-on crash between two motorbikes near Southend Airport.

The collision happened when a red Vesper moped struck a blue Yamaha motorbike at the junction of The Candlemakers and Journeymans Way shortly before 9:30pm on Thursday (August 16th).

The moped rider, a 55-year-old man from Southend, was certified dead at the scene.

The blue motorcycle rider, a 22-year-old man from the Rayleigh area, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the Royal London Hospital where sadly he died on Saturday afternoon (August 18th).

His pillion passenger, a 20-year-old man, also received serious injuries.
