Detectives investigating a grievous bodily harm at Basildon station are today releasing a CCTV image in connection.
At approximately 8.30pm on 20 July, a member of staff challenged a man as he did not have the correct ticket to travel. The man became immediately violent, punching the member of staff a number of times to the head in a seemingly unprovoked assault.
The flurry of punches broke the victim’s nose, he also had two black eyes and required stiches to his face. It is believed the suspect was travelling to either Pitsea or Tilbury.
Violence will never be tolerated, particularly when members of staff are targeted for simply doing their job. Detectives are working hard to identify the person responsible.
Officers believe the man shown in this CCTV image has information which could help them investigate.
