Stanstead Abbotts: Body Of Man Found

Police searching for an 88-year-old from Stanstead Abbotts missing for three weeks have found a body in Hoddesdon.

Gwyn Morris went missing from his care home at Stanstead Abbotts on Thursday December 6th.

Whilst no formal identification has taken place it is believed the body, which was discovered in Feildes Weir Lock, is Gwyn.

Extensive searches have been taking place to find Gwyn since he was reported missing and numerous media appeals have been made by officers and his family.

Chief Inspector Gerry McDonald said: "This is extremely tragic news and our thoughts are with Gwyn's daughter Ann and her family.

"I would like to pay tribute to them for their strength and courage during what has understandably been a very difficult time.

"I would also like to thank members of the public and the media for their support in the last three weeks."
