Suspected Fake Nurse Worked In Essex

It's been revealed a woman arrested on suspicion on fraud in Kent also worked at a surgery near Saffron Walden.

The 46-year-old has been questioned and bailed after an investigation by the Essex and Kent Serious Crime Directorate.

It's after claims a nurse working at four GP surgeries in Kent wasn't qualified.

Heart's been told the woman also worked at the Newport Surgery near Saffron walden between August 2005 and July 2006.

The NHS North Essex say the practice had no knowledge of any wrong doing. .

Dr Pam Hall, Deputy Director of Public Health said: "We are carrying out an immediate review to check that the standard of care we expect patients to receive has been maintained.

"Our investigations have not found any problems with the work this person has carried out and we do not believe that there has been any harm to anyone's health.

"We have also checked and we are not aware of any complaints about this person at any stage during their employment.

"As a purely precautionary measure we will be writing to a small number of patients individually to invite them to be seen again. Patients can be reassured that if they do not receive a letter they do not need to do anything further.

"If patients are still concerned, or they would like further information, they should call our helpline on 0345 6029904 from 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

"I want to reassure patients that we are doing everything possible to protect their safety."
