Three men have been charged over a break-in in Sible Hedingham where a man was shot in his own home.
Intruders broke into the house on Rectory Road in the early hours of Saturday, 6 February.
The man inside the building had hidden in his bedroom but was shot through the door.
He suffered what were described as "life-changing" injuries, and Essex Police said he may have to have his leg amputated.
Three men were subsequently arrested.
Now 22 year-old Charlie Simms, from North Road in Great Yeldham, 23 year-old Kalebh Shreeve, from Gibson Road in Halstead, and 27 year-old Christopher Bergin, from Hawkwood Road in Halstead, have all been charged with aggravated burglary, GBH with intent, and possession of a firearm.
