A woman has been threatened by two men and had a liquid sprayed in her face at her home in Rochford.
The pair knocked at the victim's house in Rochford Garden Way just before 1:30pm yesterday (Monday, June 22).
When the woman answered the door she had an unknown substance sprayed in her face. The pair then forced their way in and took a gold necklace she was wearing.
The victim, who is in her 30s, wasn't hurt but was left very distressed.
Detectives from Southend CID are investigating.
Dc Glen Crosby said: "This sort of incident is rare but obviously very distressing for the victim.
"Fortunately she was not injured.
The suspects are described as two black men, both of slim build.
"One was wearing a pink hooded top and carrying a side bag.
The other was wearing a blue hooded top.”
He added: "Our enquiries are continuing today but I would urge anyone with any information or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious happening in the area to contact us.”
