Attempted Rape In Milton Keynes

A woman has told police a man has tried to rape her near Milton Keynes' Grand Union Canal.

At approximately 2pm yesterday (22/5) an 18-year-old woman was walking her dog at Oakridge Park, Milton Keynes, near the Grand Union Canal when a man approached her, pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her.  She managed to escape and run home and contact the police.

The offender is a 25-35 year-old man, 5ft 10ins, medium build, with brown eyes and an accent.  He was wearing a black beanie hat and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Det Chief Insp Kelly Glister from Milton Keynes Force CID, said:  "This incident took place during the day.  People may have seen or heard something when it happened and I would ask them to contact the police on 101 with any information, no matter how small the detail.  There will be extra patrols in the area offering advice and reassurance and anyone with any concerns can contact 101.

"TVP takes all reports of this nature extremely seriously and we will be conducting a thorough investigation. At this early stage of the investigation we do not believe the incident is linked to any other recent reports."
