Attempted Robbery in Northampton

Two men tried to rob a Costcutters store in Northampton on Sunday.

They went into the shop in Billing Brook Road, Northampton, between 8pm and 8.20pm on Sunday evening (19 December) as the staff were closing.
 
The men - one black and one white - demanded money and for the safe be opened.
 
One member of staff was struck several times about the head with a weapon the black robber  was carrying.
 
He was taken to Northampton General Hospital with four cuts to his head that required treatment.
 
Nothing was takenand the two men left the store.
 
The black man is described as 5ft 9ins tall, aged in his mid-to-late twenties and is of average build. He was wearing dark hooded top and a dark scarf covered the lower half of his face.
 
The white man was 5ft 9ins tall, aged in his twenties and of medium build. He was also wearing dark clothing and a dark scarf covering the lower half of his face. His hooded jacket was made of a sport/cotton type of material.
