Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman says she was approached from behind and "bear-hugged" by a stranger - before she was touched inappropriately.
The 29 year-old told police she was walking through the underpass between Dayrell Road and Piccadilly Close when it happened at around 1145pm on Friday.
The victim managed to break free and ran off. The offender is believed to be a white man.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and in particular would like to speak to a woman who was in Dayrell Road around the time of the incident, walking in the opposite direction.
Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
