Bedford Driver Arrested After Crash

Prebend Street in Bedford has been closed during the day after a multi-vehicle road traffic collision (Thurs March 26).

Emergency services were called at approximately 2.05pm to reports of a man who was driving erratically.

Officers attended the scene at Prebend Street (pictured) and located the vehicle however before they could intervene, the vehicle was involved in a collision with three other vehicles.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to leave the scene on foot but was arrested by officers. 

A 31 year-old was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including dangerous driving, being unfit to drive as a result of drink/drugs, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, and failing to stop for police.

He has been taken to Kempston custody suite for questioning.
