Cardington Cyclist Badly Hurt Near Bedford Bypass

A woman has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury following a collision near Bedford.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received a call at 11.42am today (25th March) to Cardington Road, Cardington, to a report of a collision between a car and a cyclist.

Two ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle, and ambulance officer attended.

The Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance was also called.

They treated a woman in her 30s who had suffered a serious head injury and suspected fractured skull.

She was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further treatment.
