Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a series of distraction thefts from vehicles in Milton Keynes.

One of the thefts occurred at approximately 7.30pm on Wednesday 13 May in Tesco car park, Winchester Circle.

The 34 year-old victim left her handbag in the passenger seat of her car and returned her trolley. When she returned to her vehicle, the bag was missing.

Thames Valley Police have released a CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the theft.

The stolen handbag is black, with Gucci leather, and contained a red snakeskin wallet, cash, a white Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini with a smashed screen and a Nokia phone.

There have been five other thefts in Milton Keynes since in recent weeks:

  • 6 May – Sainsbury’s car park, Bletchley – The victim had withdrawn cash from the bank and placed it in her bag which was then put in the rear of her car. She then heard a car horn sound behind her and, while distracted, a man opened the car door and stole the bag
