The idea is to grow the site in Bedfordshire to handle double the number of passengers.

The leader of Hertfordshire County Council, David Williams, says he has concerns over the possibility of Luton airport expanding into the county.

The idea is to grow Luton Airport, spreading from Bedfordshire into neighbouring Hertfordshire, to handle nearly 40 million passengers a year. That's more than double its current number.

But although David says the expansion is a big challenge, he also says if pollution and transport issues are addressed the benefits for Hertfordshire could be huge.
