Improvements to Rushden High Street are progressing well and on schedule, with Phase 2 due to be completed by the end of April.
The work currently taking place at Phase 1 the Southern Gateway is the installation of ducting for the street lighting, which is always the last part of the work to be done. The old planters will be removed shortly to be used elsewhere in the town and new planters with seats will be installed.
Kerbs for Phase 2 are complete, the drainage is now in and contractor MGWSP is now laying paving in the ‘town square’ section.
The bus stop outside Mistry’s is being relocated to the top of College Street as part of the improvement scheme.

“It’s great at last to see something being done to Rushden High Street. I am looking forward to seeing it finished and hope that it encourages people to shop local.”
