An investigation has been launched after five packages containing crushed paracetamol were sent to addresses in Kettering.
Chief Inspector Tom Thompson said:
"Between May 23 and 26, Northamptonshire Police received reports of packages containing a white powder being sent through the post to five buildings in Kettering, including two banks and a private business.
Extensive tests revealed the substance to be crushed paracetamol, which was harmless.
We would urge anyone who finds anything suspicious in the post to contact the police in order for properly trained officers to deal safely with any substance."
Anyone who knows anything about these incidents, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
