Network Rail have confirmed rail passengers from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire will face disruption in early 2020 as up to half of Kings Cross Station will be closed.
The railway infrastructure company says £237m will be spent to upgrade the track approaches and other parts of the structure.
Network Rail says the partial closure will last between January and March 2020.
Much of the work will involve the approaches to the station removing some of the cross-over points which will cut delays for trains leaving and arriving at the terminal.
