A man has died after the light aircraft he was in crashed near Buckingham.
Emergency services were called to Padbury Brook between the A413 and the A421 roads at 7:40pm last night (20 Aug). They had received reports the plane had got into difficulty.
The air ambulance was sent along with two road ambulances.
The man, aged in his sixties, died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
An investigation by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is now underway and officers remain at the scene this morning.
Supt Gez Chiariello, LPA Commander for Aylesbury Vale, said: “Officers are currently in Buckingham following a light aircraft collision.
“Sadly the sole occupant of the plane died at the scene. No one was hurt on the ground.
“Investigators from the Air Accident Investigation Branch are due to attend to investigate and establish the circumstances of what has happened.”
