Detectives investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl from Kettering today released a CCTV image of the last known sighting of her.
Veronica Sbircea, aged 15, left her home in Kettering on the evening of Thursday, July 21 and there has been no confirmed sighting of her since Thursday, July 28.
Police issued this confirmed CCTV image of the teenager in the hope that it might help to find her.
It was taken at 5.15pm on Thursday, July 28, in Brighton Terrace, Brixton, south London.
A team of about a dozen detectives have been working around the clock in both London and Northamptonshire to try to locate Veronica but fears are increasingly growing for her safety.
Det Supt Elliot Foskett, who is leading the investigation team, said: “Veronica has been missing now for almost three weeks and despite the intensive efforts of everyone working on this case, we’re still no nearer to finding her.
“If you are reading this Veronica, can I urge you to get in touch and let us know you are safe. Your family want you home and are worried sick by your disappearance.”
Veronica, who also goes by the name of Rachel, is white, 5ft, with long straight black hair and brown eyes. Originally from the London area, she attended Kingsmead School in Southbury Road, Enfield.
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers executed a search warrant at an address in the Spencer area of Northampton last Friday.
Those inquiries led to a 26-year-old man from Romford, Essex, being arrested on Saturday on suspicion of child abduction.
He was later released on bail until next month.
Detectives have spent the past few days trawling through CCTV footage from at least 20 business premises in the Brixton Road area where Veronica was last seen.
If anyone knows of Veronica’s whereabouts, please contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
