Newport Pagnell fatal assault victim named

Police say they can now name the elderly man who died after an assault in Newport Pagnell last month as Hedley Robinson.
The 86 year-old was attacked along with a 79 year-old woman at an address in Chicheley Street in March.
A 46 year-old local man has been remaned in custody after being charged with attempted murder.

Thames Valley Police was called to a report of a serious assault at an address in Chicheley Street, Newport Pagnell at around 12:45pm on Sunday 24 March.
Officers attended the scene where two victims, a 79 year-old woman and an 86 year-old man had suffered serious injuries following an assault.
They were both taken to hospital.
The woman has since been discharged from hospital, but the man died on Sunday 14 April; he can now be formally identified as Hedley Robinson.
A post mortem has taken place, but a cause of death has not yet been established.
Further tests will be undertaken, which may take a significant period of time.
Gary Karl Robinson, 46, of Chicheley Street, Newport Pagnell, has been charged in relation to the incident with two counts of attempted murder, one count of racially aggravated public order and one count of assault of an emergency worker.
He appeared in Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on 26 March and was further remanded into custody.
A future court date is yet to be set.
