Police in Upton, investigating the murder of a 28-year-old man, have released his name.
Joshua Bains (pictured) was from Northampton, and was injured in Webb Drive on Thursday night.
He died at the scene; and a post-mortem examination has determined his injuries came from being shot with a firearm.
Joshua's family have given this statement:
"Joshua was a truly beautiful person in every way and his death has left a huge gap in our lives.
"He was caring and thoughtful towards his family and a loyal friend. He was a fantastic son, brother, partner and father to two wonderful children.
"Your life was cut short and the pain of losing you is so great, but your spirit will never leave us."
Neighbourhood policing teams continue to carry out patrols in the area of Upton where Joshua was found.
Detective Superintendent Simon Cure, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team, said: "Our thoughts are with Joshua’s family and friends and specialist officers are continuing to support them.
"While we have made a number of arrests in connection with Joshua’s murder, this is very much an active investigation and there are still more people we need to talk to.
“I am appealing to anyone who has any information, however small, that could help us bring those responsible for Joshua’s death to justice, to contact the incident room as soon as possible."
Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 18000476859.
