National Grid say works been taking place to get supplies restored to the north of town today (Saturday).
Saturday lunchtime latest:
National Grid say their engineers are focusing on getting properties south of New Road and Pavillion Road back on the gas this afternoon (Saturday) after a faulty piece of equipment knocked out supplies to the whole town on Wednesday night.
National Grid has been carrying out preparatory work on the gas network with the aim of switching some gas supplies back on in the south of Oundle overnight (Friday into Saturday).
Engineers will then begin turning on supplies. They aim is to get the bulk of gas supplies in the south of Oundle back by the end of today (Saturday).
This morning engineers will begin preparatory work on the gas network in the north of Oundle, with the aim of starting to switch supplies back on in the north of the town by the afternoon.
National Grid say:
"Please arrange for someone to be home so that we can switch your gas back on. We will need to visit all the affected properties to turn their gas supply back on and to carry out safety checks on the gas appliances and the gas meter.
Please do not try to do this yourself. Wait for an engineer to call.
We are restoring supplies from the south of Oundle to the north. We are working in this order as gas from our network feeds Oundle from the south.
We would like to thank everyone in Oundle for their patience. We are working to restore supplies as soon as possible.
Our customer centre will remain open until 11pm tonight and will re-open at 8am on Saturday. - Glapthorn Room on the first floor (a lift is available) 'The Hub' Fletton House, Fletton Way, Glapthorn Road, Oundle, PE8 4JA.
