Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a rape in Milton Keynes.
Between 12.45pm and 1pm on Sunday (10/5), the victim, a 17 year-old girl, was walking in an open air car park in central Milton Keynes, close to the shopping centre, when she became aware of a man near her.
The man grabbed hold of her and subsequently raped her.
Det Chief Insp Kelly Glister, from Milton Keynes Force CID, said:
"This incident took place on a busy Sunday in the centre of Milton Keynes and there would undoubtedly have been people who saw or heard something when it happened.
It may be that you saw two people having some kind of altercation, or saw someone being attacked, or maybe you saw a young woman who appeared distressed, or a man acting suspiciously.
It is vital that we establish the circumstances around this incident, and ascertain exactly what happened. I would like to speak to anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant the detail may seem to them, as it could be vital to our investigation.
Thames Valley Police takes all reports of this nature extremely seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigation."
