Thames Valley Police in Milton Keynes are investigating reports a man has gone into a Starbucks and tried to rob the joint with a black pistol, and a McDonald's Happy Meal.
At about 7pm on Saturday (31/1) a man entered the Starbucks coffee shop in Elder Gate.
He was carrying what appeared to be a black pistol and a McDonald’s Happy Meal box.
He walked to the counter and pointed the weapon at the box and shouted at the assistant requesting money be placed inside the box.
The assistant did not hand over any cash and the man left the coffee shop empty-handed.
Investigating officer Det Con Wayne Watson, of Milton Keynes Force CID, said:
"This was a serious offence and detectives are working to establish the circumstances. We would like to speak to the man in the CCTV as we believe he may have information related to this investigation.
There were two customers in the shop at the time of the incident and we would like to speak to these people as they may have information which can assist officers. Patrols have been increased in the area and local businesses have been offered extra safety advice."
