Two men from Luton have been arrested for attempted murder after a man suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a scaffolding poli in Newport Pagnell.
The 42-year-old man was involved in an altercation at a building site in Rowditch Furlong at around 8am yesterday.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by air ambulance, where he is receiving treatment.
A 23-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, both from Luton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are in custody.
A scene watch is in place today and officers are in the area conducting enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Glover said: "We are in the early stages of this investigation and are working to establish exactly what has taken place.
"At this time we believe that the victim and the offenders know each other.
"We currently have two people in custody being questioned today. If anyone has any information about this incident, please speak to officers in the area or call 101."
