Man found with serious injuries

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found with head and facial injuries in Gloucester this morning.

Officers were called to Wellington Street by an ambulance crew just after 5am, who were treating a 61-year-old man had found on the pavement suffering from serious injuries.

He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where his condition is currently described as serious.

Police have cordoned off the area as investigations are carried out and they are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward..

A 48-year-old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of ABH in connection with the incident. He is currently being questioned at Gloucester Police Station.
