You don't have to put up with loud music, barking dogs and hammers banging on the wall.

That is the message of 'noise action week' which is underway in Gloucestershire.

Environmental health teams have the powers to confiscate sound equipment and even jail people who continue to ignore warnings.

Heart has been finding out more from Gloucester City Council's Environmental Protection Manager, Lloyd Griffiths:

Listen to Lloyd's advice

Meanwhile Cotswold District Council are handing out special nuisance packs, which give people advice on what to do if they are in that situation, like taking a log of incidents and what to do to get action started.

You can find out more about the packs at www.cotswold.gov.uk/go/environmentalprotection or call 01285 623000
