Mel and her wheelchair Dolly will be going for gold at the Paralympic's racing track in the T34 100m women's track event on the 31st August and the T34 200m on Thursday 6 September.
Mel who lives in Tewkesbury and works as a teaching assistant at Winchcombe Abbey School has only been racing competitively for two years.
We spoke to Mel last year as her preparations were well underway for London 2012.
