Paws In the Park in Cheltenham has been cancelled with just a couple of weeks notice.
The annual family event was supposed to happen on the 5th August.
The Borough Council say it's due to unforseen circumstances but they will do all they can to bring it back in 2019.
Here's their statement:
Councillor Peter Jeffries, deputy leader at Cheltenham Borough Council said: ''With such a well-loved and supported event, this decision was not taken lightly. Cheltenham prides itself in its wide range of festivals and events, having just successfully hosted an incredibly popular Midsummer Fiesta event.
''Unforeseen circumstances are unforeseen and in this instance, it's incredibly disappointing for all concerned but we will endeavour to welcome this event back next year.''
Tracey Crews, director for planning added: "We are disappointed to not be able to take forward Paws in the Park this year and apologise to those who were looking forward to attending, we hope that you will join the Mayor in his event on 26 August and make the most of our green spaces within town and the wider countryside on our doorstep".
