Police in Cheltenham are urging women going out in the town to be vigilant after three sexual touching incidents in the last few weeks.
All the incidents happened in the Montpellier area between 3am and 4am on Sunday mornings and officers believe the same man to be responsible.
In each case the offender, described as Asian, in his mid 20s and often wearing a leather jacket, has approached women on a night out and making their way home. Typically he will start a conversation before assaulting the women by touching them either inside or outside of their clothing.
Police are advising women going out in the town over the weekend to be alert and read the personal safety advice at www.gloucestershire.police.uk
Amongst the advice, officers are reminding women to:
Let someone know where you’re going.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Consider carrying a personal attack alarm.
Inquiries to trace the man are ongoing but anyone who sees him or has any information about these cases is urged to call 101 and quote incident 54 of 10 May.
