A reward is being offered for information about Friday night's shooting in Matson.
Crimestoppers have put up the cash reward for information leading to the discovery of the shotgun or conviction of anyone involved in the shooting of a man in Winsley Road.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Atkinson, officer-in-charge of the investigation, said:
“Thanks to calls from the public we have already been able to find the car involved and progress the investigation swiftly.
“If you have information but are worried about coming forward then remember that Crimestoppers calls are anonymous – they don’t ask for your name and it won’t be used in court.
“We are very keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident, or the recovered car being driven around Gloucester on the day of the shooting or the days before. It is a P registration green Renault Laguna with a distinctive scratch across the driver’s side.”
Police are also seeking to reassure the local community in the wake of the incident.
DCI Atkinson continued:
“We understand the sort of impact this is having on people in the area and local neighbourhood police officers will be keeping an increased presence there over the next few days to speak to residents, reassure them and answer their concerns.
“Importantly, we do not believe this was a random shooting. This was the result of a feud and the people involved knew each other.
“While we have arrested a man in connection with the case we believe someone else or others were involved and we are working flat out to identify them.
“In the meantime, officers are interviewing witnesses and pursuing lines of enquiry around telephony and forensic evidence.”
Anyone with information should call 0845 090 1234 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 634 of June 9.
The 42-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the case on Saturday has been bailed to attend Gloucester Police Station on September 15.
