Cheltenham: Police Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery

Police in Cheltenham are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery at a shop in the town.

The incident happened at the store on St Pauls Road between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Saturday April 19. 

The offender entered the shop with a weapon, believed to be a black handgun and asked the shopkeeper to hand over money. The victim refused to comply with the offender and attempted to fight back. 

At this point the offender ran off empty handed. Once he left the shop he ran off in the direction of Victoria Street. 

No one was injured in the incident. 

The offender is described as white, male about 5ft 9ins tall and around 25-years-old. He was wearing a dark hooded top and a balaclava over his face.
