Tour of duty

Gloucestershire based troops are preparing to leave their wives, children and partners behind for a year in Afghanistan.

Around 250 soliders from the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps will be heading out there this month.

The ARRC moved into their Innsworth base last summer and are made up of soldiers from 14 different nations, including the UK.

In Afghanistan they will be based at the main HQ helping to co-ordinate the movements of thousands of coalition troops.
