Two teenagers have been arrested after a taxi driver was seriously assaulted in North Weald.

The man, in his 60s, was dropping his passengers off in High Road when it happened early yesterday (19/03).

He suffered serious face injuries and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for treatment.

Following a police search of the area a 17-year-old boy from Epping and 16-year-old boy from Chingford were arrested on suspicion of GBH and theft from a motor vehicle.

The 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.
