A 12 year old boy has been assaulted in Hatfield by a man who approached him and his friends.
The incident happened in Lambs Close at 3pm when a man approached a 12-year-old boy who was with his friends. The man exposed himself to the boy and made attempts to touch the boy, who then ran off.
The man was described as white, aged between 28 and 35, with black receding hair. He was said to be clean shaven and had large ears and nose, and long skinny arms.
Detective Sergeant Sophia Pidgeon from the Local Crime Unit is investigating and said: “This incident will understandably be of some concern to the community but I would like to reassure people that we are doing all we can to trace the person responsible as a matter of urgency.
“We have spoken to a number of people who witnessed what happened, however I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact police if you haven’t already spoken to us.
“We will have officers on patrol in the area today so if you have concerns, please do speak to them and if you see anyone matching this description acting suspiciously, please contact police immediately.”
