A man has been arrested after a drugs raid in Borehamwood.

Class A drugs were seized following a drugs warrant which was executed in Borehamwood on Wednesday (March 25).

Officers from Operation Scorpion and the Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted the warrant on Stanborough Road. A search of the property took place and a small amount of drugs, and scales were seized.

Anthony Begley, aged 42, from Stanborough Avenue, Borehamwood, was charged on March 26th with possession of class A drugs (Cocaine) and has been bailed to appear before Central Herts Magistrates Court, on April 14th 2015.

Sergeant Noel Buckley, Hertsmere Safer Neighbourhood Team: "We will continue to proactively execute warrants across Borehamwood where we suspect drugs supply is taking place.

"In targeting people suspected of dealing drugs, this can lead to a reduction in other associated crimes such as theft and burglary, which are often committed to fund drug use. I hope the community of Hertsmere will feel reassured that we are working to improve their quality of life."
Anyone with information about drugs or drug related activity in their neighbourhood should report this to police via the non-emergency number, 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
