Police are looking for witnesses after a biker punched through a car window in St Albans.

The incident happened between 7.30am and 7.40am on Old London Road last Wednesday. A man was pulling out of a junction on Old London Road in his grey Renault Clio when he saw a motorcycle approaching and braked to avoid it. The motorcyclist also stopped and went to the front of the car whilst still on his bike, kicking the front of the car but leaving no mark.

The offender then pushed himself around on his bike to the passenger window of the car and punched through the window. Some of the broken pieces of glass caught the driver’s face and left him with two small cuts. The motorcyclist then rode off on his bike towards the city centre.

The suspect is described as white and wearing black motorcycle clothing with a crash helmet. He was riding a yellow motorcycle.

PC Chris Fisher, investigating, said: “Road rage like this will not be tolerated in Hertfordshire. I would like to appeal to anyone who saw the incident take place to come forward.

“Alternatively, if you can identify the offender, I would also like to hear from you.

“If you have any information regarding this incident, I would also like to encourage you to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should ring PC Fisher via the non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference number F1/11/3539. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers (an independent charity) anonymously on 0800 555111.
