Cyclist Seriously Injured in Accident

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an accident involving a car and a pedal cycle in Bushey on Wednesday (May 11).

It happened at just after 10am on Bushey Hall Road. A white Ford Transit van was reversing when a collision occurred with a pedal cyclist. The pedal cyclist, a man in his 80s, was taken to Watford General hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30s from Watford, was uninjured.

DC Dee Rayner, from the Crash Investigation Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw the collision to come forward.

“In particular, I would like to speak to a woman who helped at the scene, but did not stay or pass on her details.

“Any information may be vital in our investigation into what happened.”
