M25 Hertfordshire Closed After Serious Crash

Severe delays on the M25 in Hertfordshire after a lorry overturned, closing both directions between J24 and J25.

There are severe delays on the M25 in Hertfordshire following a major crash this morning.

Both directions have been closed between junctions 24 and 25, after a lorry overturned and hit the central reservation at 9.30am. 

Hertfordshire fire crews freed one person from a lorry and another who was trapped under a barrier.

One man is in a critical condition and another has serious injuries. Both have been taken to hospital.

According to the the Highways Agency, the carriageways are expected to be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so, however the closure is expected to last for several hours.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible.
