With less than a month until we go to the polls for the General Election, Heart has been speaking to the candidates from the main parties for Watford constituency.

Standing in May 7's election is Richard Harrington for the Conservatives, Matthew Turmaine from Labour, Dorothy Thornhill for the Lib Dems, Nick Lincoln for UKIP, Aidan Cottrell-Boyce for the Green Party and Mark O Connor from the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition Party.

We asked the candidates for the three main parties:

  1. What will you do to tackle the shortage of homes in Watford and the rising cost of properties?
  2. How will you tackle the constant problems we have on our rail network, especially at Watford Junction?
  3. What will you do to tackle congestion on the roads?
  4. How will you ensure patients can be confident they will receive good care at Watford General Hospital?
  5. Will you continue to push development at the Watford health campus, ensuring infrastructure is built to support this?
