Work On A411 In Watford All Week
28 July 2015, 06:41 | Updated: 28 July 2015, 06:43
Part of the A411 in Watford will be shut each night this week for resurfacing work.
The £174,000 resurfacing scheme will take place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, between the junction of Chalk Hill and Haydon Road to approximately 150m west of the A411 High Street/School Lane junction, using a full road closure. It is expected that it will be completed over five nights, weather permitting.
All noisy operations, such as jack hammering, will be completed by midnight. However, work may occur outside the scheduled hours if unforeseen circumstances arise.
A signed alternative route will be in place. Access to properties during the working hours may be disrupted. Please do not park in the work area during the publicised dates and times. Any parked vehicles which are holding up the works may be removed.
Terry Douris, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “These works form part of Hertfordshire County Council's on-going commitment to maintain and improve our roads for the benefit of all road users in Hertfordshire.
"I realise that the road closure on this busy road is likely to cause disruption and inconvenience to motorists and would ask everyone for their co-operation while the work is in progress.”
Any changes to the proposed start date, duration or working hours will be announced on the information boards on site and will be available at www.hertsdirect.org/roadworks
Bus service routes may be affected by these works – for details of any changes you can visit www.intalink.org.uk – and look in the ‘service disruptions’ section.
