Police in Hertfordshire say they have made 45 arrests for public order and looting since trouble began last weekend.

Of those, 14 have been charged and two men have already been prosecuted. Officers are continuing to carry out further work to identify and arrest others involved in disorder from the Hertfordshire area.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Williamson said: "So far we have seen a high number of arrests and I would like to reassure the people of Hertfordshire that we are working relentlessly to arrest all those in Hertfordshire who have been involved in this criminality. Our work is far from done.

"Our message to the criminals is this - just because you haven't been arrested yet, don't think you have evaded the law Over the coming days, weeks and months we will be working to ensure you are caught and brought to justice, so I would encourage you to hand yourself in."

Over 100 CCTV images of the disorder in Waltham Cross last Sunday night through to Monday morning when two jewellers were raided have been released. So far eight people have been arrested and four of them charged.
